  • Shower, exfoliate, and remove unwanted body hair at least 8 hours before your scheduled appointment time. Exfoliating is â€‹extremely important before receiving your airbrush spray tan.
  • Your skin should be clean and dry before your spray tan. Do not use any moisturizers, perfume, oils, makeup deodorants/antiperspirants before your appointment as they can effect the tan development.
  • Wear dark loose and easily cleaned clothing to your appointment.
  • Wear loose shoes such as sandals or flip flops.
  • Bring a dark swimsuit or undergarment to create your "tan line".      You may opt to tan nude if you wish to have no visible tan lines.
  • Please have a hair tie or clip handy to keep the hair away from face or neck. I have hair nets available as well.
  • You will not be able to sweat, exercise, swim or bathe for at least 6 - 10 hours.

Preparation and Maintenance

  • Wear loose dark fitted clothing for 6 - 10 hours.
  • Don't sweat, exercise, swim or bathe for 6 - 10 hours.

  • After the 6 - 10 hour is up, shower normally using moisturizing shower gel. Do not use exfoliants or abrasive products.

  • During the shower, it is normal for some color to wash off. Your skin will still have a beautiful tan develop in 24 hours.

  • After shower, pat your skin dry. DON'T RUB!

  • Remember to moisturize! Ask me for a great product that has amazing results in keeping your tan even longer.

Spray tans can last from 7 - 10 days if cared for correctly. To maintain your tan, make sure that you moisturize and use correct products. Using the wrong products can cause your tan to fade quicker than normal.

The following is a list of body care products that could potentially have a fading or blotchy effect on your spray tan. This is only a guide and not every client will have an issue with these items or products:

  • AHA products
  • Anti-acne products that exfoliate or dy the skin
  • Anti-aging products that exfoliate skin
  • Bar soaps
  • BHA Products
  • Retin-A products
  • Body Hair Bleach Products
  • Toners containing Alcohols or Witch Hazel can lighten tan
  • Facial masks & exfoliating scrubs
  • Body spray, perfumes, and bug spray when they are sprayed directly on skin. I recommend that you spray your clothing or spray into the air then walk through.
  • Hair inhibiting Lotions can cause your tan to yellow
  • Exercising often or large amount of sweating can cause your tan to fade faster, especially in body fold areas.
  • Makeup remover cleaning products or oils
  • Submersion in hot tub or swimming pool and sometimes even habitual long hot baths.
  • Using a loofah, mitt, scrub etc. for daily washing
  • Waxing unwanted hair or depilatory hair removal products

That 8-12 hours after your session a quick shower is required to remove the initial bronzer and reveal your actual tan.  After your shower you will need to keep your skin moisturized.  Moistruizing with a low alcohol content lotion twice a day will increase the life of your tan.  Two days after your tanning session, apply our tan extender to help prolong your tan.  Areas like your face, hands and feet tend to fade quicker than the rest of your body so we recommend that you use our tan mist to touch up those areas.
